Don't Eat Pete {V-Day Style}

I first blogged about this game in October {here}. My nieces and nephews loved this game so much, that I decided to make a Valentine's Day version! I'm sure this game will be a fun addition to your classroom Valentine's Day Party, too!

DIRECTIONS: Place one candy heart in each square of the game board. Send the first child away from the room, and have the remaining children choose which love monster will be "Pete". Then have the first child come back and begin eating the candy hearts, one at a time. As soon as the child tries to pick up the candy heart that is on the "Pete"  love monster, everyone yells, "Don't eat Pete!!!!" Refill the game board with candy hearts, and play again with the next child.

  1. OK you got me laughing out loud right now because I used to babysit a lil boy who would call his dad, "PETE" very LOUDLY! and this just took me back. Can just hear our kiddos shouting, "Don't Eat Pete!" They would come unglued! This is hilarious. Certainly a perfect game for Vday when they are so sugared up on candy anyhow (it's become like Halloween). Love it!

    Thanks for sharing Lindsey!

  4. Hi Lindsey- This looks like so much fun. I just thought of a way I can extend the fun after the party. I think I will put sight words on each monster and the children will take turns reading and keeping them until they get to Pete. Once they try to read the sight word on that monster they have to stop. The child with the most sight words "wins". Does that make sense? I know my kids will love it.

    Thanks for sharing.

  10. My kids grew up playing Don't Eat Pete...and when they were teens loved to make their own "Don't eat Pete" game boards for others. I love your Vday one! I'd use jelly hearts or jelly lips,to play with, instead of conversation hearts, just a preference, we like chewy things much better!

  11. Mine keeps printing in weird colors! I checked my ink levels and nothing else I print is doing it?
