I know I have already posted about my reading beads {here} and {here}, but I have changed things up a bit this year. Instead of using metal tags for each students name, I am now using Brag Tags. The metal tags {pictured below} can be a little expensive and I am so sick of pouring money into my classroom!
Brag tags were a lot cheaper than metal tags, and I didn't have to stamp them all!
For my class, I choose the one that says, "Reading Rocks" and I had my school name put on the bottom. I think I'll even order a few different designs that students can earn if they meet special reading challenges {for example: reading over school breaks, meeting a goal, etc} throughout the year.
A big thanks to Boost Promotions {Home of the Brag Tag} for sending me these tags to use in my classroom! If you would like to win 100 brag tags {up to 4 different designs} for your own classroom, then just follow the rules below! Trust me -- your students will LOVE them!
TO ENTER:
1. Follow Boost Promotions via email {here}.
2. Follow Boost Promotions on Facebook {here}.
*Leave one comment below letting me know you have done both of these things!*
I will announce the winner on Monday, September 24th. GOOD LUCK!!

Thanks for the great ideas for Brag Tags! I hope I win!

Looking for a new incentive for AR!! Thanks for offering these! Crossing my fingers (and toes)
ReplyDeleteBrag tags do sound great. Having something physical to hold on to is a terrific reinforcer. Something I have used with great success for home reading is a site called Character Scrapbook on Scholastic.com. It was made for teachers to use, but it is so easy for parents to use also. It gets parents reading with their children and they can print out all the characters they have met during the school year. http://teacher.scholastic.com/activities/scrapbook/
ReplyDeleteDid both. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSo do kids add beads when they read? Is that how it works?
I love this idea! I may have to do something like this in my classroom :)
