Happy SPRING BREAK! I am loving this week and it is making me excited for summer vacation. However, I still have 2 months of school before I can fully enjoy the sunshine, so it is time to kick it into HIGH GEAR!
Before the break, I noticed that my students are S-T-R-U-G-G-L-I-N-G with double/triple-digit math {with regrouping}. Oh my... it is hard for them! It's amazing how some of my little dears got it just-like-that and how some of them are lacking the motivation to get the answers correct {there are a LOT of steps}. I have students who can do simple addition/subtraction and they know the steps that are necessary to regroup, but they don't want to take the time to do it. GRRR! Let's just say that I have created my latest packet for them in mind: Double-Digit Addition & Subtraction {Triple-Digit, Too!}. It will include practice pages for double/triple digit math, games to keep your students engaged, timed tests, and MORE!
I will do my best to have this unit up by Sunday Thursday... I just have so much to add...
until then, I'm going to give you a chance to win this Double/Triple-Digit Math Packet!!!
All you have to do is follow my blog and leave a comment... EASY PEASY! :)
I will announce the winner when I finish and post this unit.

Good Luck!

As a first year teacher, I've turned to your blog many times to spark my creativity! A few of my kiddos are still struggling with regrouping addition/subtraction -- would love to try your materials!
ReplyDeleteWe just finished up triple digit addition and subtraction. It was our common assessment. Let's just say, some of my little darlin's need a good review session before we do any CRT tests. Your packet would be just the ticket!!

I follow and love your blog! Regrouping is hard so developmental! My district chooses to teach regrouping in third, once they have a more conceptual understanding how regrouping works, it does help! I taught it in third with few issues. :) But since I might be going back to third next year, I can't wait to check this product out!

I am a follower. The double digits are tough. It becomes so apparent which kids are lacking fluency and struggling with larger numbers.
ReplyDeleteI started using Drag and Drop math from Mr. Nussbaum (I may be misspelling that!). The kids love it. They get to drag the numbers over and when you carry or borrow the numbers shrink...check it out and that will make more sense!
