ReplyDeleteI LOVE LOVE LOVE your bulletin board. It is so pretty. Educational too, but I love the prettiness the most.
And I don't teach fractions. A few years ago they took them out of the first grade standards and then threw some other stuff in there and I thought I'd still expose my kids to them at the end of each year but I always run out of time. It's sad. I enjoyed fractions. With pizza. And pie.

When I teach fractions I use funny voices. So for denominator I talk in a really deep Arnold Swarchenegger (Terminator) voice. Then I use an itty bitty baby voice to say numerator. It helps my kids remember that the denominator is the BIG number, pieces in all and the numerator is the little number. :) Cute unit!
