My popcorn word-wall is definitely the cutest addition to my circus classroom!
Since my word-wall is a whiteboard, I use magnets to keep the words up.
For the first few week of school, I put color/number words up as a review for my students.
Once we tested on color/number words, I changed them out for a new set of words that we studied.
Oh and I can't forget... every time we change out the words, we POP popcorn and enjoy!
Just in case you are wondering, I purchased that darling popcorn banner from
Hobby Lobby for $5.99 (I used a coupon). You can view it here.

(This download also includes the "Popcorn Words" and "POP!" posters to help decorate your word-wall)
I have created popcorn words (using Dolch sight words) for kindergarten, first grade, and second grade.
Each unit is only $3.99! Click the images below to purchase:
Do you have a word-wall in your classroom? How do you use it?

Do you take the words down each week? If so, what do you do with the old words? I also have a popcorn word wall but it is already overflowing and we have only had 4 weeks worth of words. There is no way I can fit a years worth of words on it. How do you do it?
ReplyDeleteThis is such a creative word wall! I LOVE it! I bet a circus themed classroom is so much fun! This is my first year doing a themed classroom and I love it. I will definitely have to keep a circus theme in mind for the future! :)

There is a popcorn words song that you should check out! I believe it's by Jack Hartman. I`m pretty sure there is a video to go along with it too. - Your newest fan

I just love your blog! You have some really cute ideas! This popcorn word wall is so cute... I am def going to use this idea next year - thanks!! I always have some blank word cards on hand (laminated) so if we are talking about something and a word comes up, we can go stick it up on the wall straight away!
