I am so happy to be done with this unit.
It seems like it took me FOR-EV-ERRRR and a day.
But all good things take time, right?
This is my first science unit and definitely my longest (77 pages).
This unit focuses on IGNEOUS, SEDIMENTARY, and METAMORPHIC rocks!
This Unit Includes: A Scientist Rock Notebook for Students, A Scientist Rock Notebook for Teachers (very detailed), Worksheets/Assessments, 3 Rock Characters, Rock Charts (Easy to Understand), 2 Yummy Recipes, a Letter Home to Parents, Rock Story Problems, Rock Observation Worksheets, Book Suggestions, and more!
And because I love you all so much...

Funny thing-- this worksheet was supposed to be in my rock unit, but I forgot to include it!
My loss (aka my laziness) is your gain!
ENjOY!

I really enjoy your blog and this unit looks wonderful!! I teach first grade in Utah too. It's nice to see such a fabulous blog from my neck of the woods:)

A Teacher's Plan
Congratulations Lindsey, I just purchased your unit and it is beyond wonderful :) I am so eager to use the unit in class - science is not my strong point at all, and good quality science resources for kinder are SO scarce here in Australia. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteThis look amazing! Really love it!

I purchased this unit and just started teaching it this week with my kiddos. I LOVE the rock characters and so do the kids. They are up on my white board and the kids refer to them every day. So cute. Thanks for your great ideas. -Jaime
