And... because you all are so wonderful... I want to give you a freebie!
This is a mini book (and the freebie):
I love mini books (and so do my students)! I learned about them from a great teacher friend and I can't stop making them! These books are great because they have a border for stapling and they fit on one page!
I know--it's genius!
This mini book isn't exactly the same as the one in my Noun Unit, but it is similiar!

It's so fun!!!! I love it!
ReplyDeleteDo you teach person, place, thing, or animal? I always add animal on to it, but it can be considered a thing for sure! What does everyone else do?
the unit looks amazing. However I can't download the freebie here. :(

Hi Lindsey,

We are working on -ed and -ing next week so I purchased your unit. My eleven year old son was watching me print the unit and loved how you used "old" letters for -ed and "young" letters for -ing (Something I didn't even notice!) Adorable!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! :)

Thank you for the freebie! I just went over nouns, verbs, and describing words in my class. I did a mini lesson on making silly sentences. I had the students write 3 nouns, verbs, and describing words. Then I went around the room and had the students put the nouns into the a brown bag that I labeled Nouns etc. I started a sentence and then I had a student pick out one word from each bag, so I could finish my sentence.
ReplyDeleteThe students loved making these silly sentences and I used it as one of my centers for writer's workshop. Maybe you can use this in your class too. Thanks again for all the amazing ideas that you come up with!
